Who may be a good candidate
Long-term freedom from waxing appointments and ingrown hairs. The best results are usually seen with dark hair, because laser energy is absorbed by pigment. If your hair in this area is light blonde, red, gray or white, laser may not be effective, and your provider will tell you so.

During the appointment

Preparation
- Shave the area the day before or the morning of your visit.

Aftercare
Loose cotton underwear, no swimming or hot tubs for 24–48 hours, and no fragranced products. Mild redness and raised follicles are common and usually settle within a day or two. Contact the clinic if you notice blistering or anything unusual.
Realistic results
Treated hairs shed over one to three weeks. Regrowth tends to become finer and sparser over a series of sessions. Laser offers long-term reduction rather than guaranteed permanent removal, and some people benefit from occasional maintenance visits.
When treatment may be delayed
Treatment is usually postponed if you are pregnant, recently tanned or sunburned, have an active infection or irritation in the area, or take medication that makes skin sensitive to light.
